Backlit SEG fabric light box
A silicone-edge fabric graphic stretched over an LED-lit aluminum frame, so the whole face glows evenly with no visible seam.
What it is
A shallow aluminum frame packed with LEDs, faced with a dye-sublimated polyester graphic whose sewn-in silicone edge tucks into a groove and pulls the fabric drum-tight. The LEDs light the fabric from behind for an even, frameless glow, and the printed face pops out and swaps in minutes.
Choose it when
You want the seamless, swappable fabric face of an SEG wall but with the glow of a lightbox baked in. Choose this over a frontlit SEG display when you specifically want it to light up, and over a printed-film lightbox when you want a tensioned, wrinkle-free fabric face you can re-skin each season.
Strengths
- Even, edge-to-edge glow with no visible frame or seam
- Fabric face pops out and swaps in minutes, so the same box runs new campaigns
- LEDs run cooler and draw less power than the old fluorescent boxes
- Dye-sub color stays clean even with bright light behind it
- Single- or double-sided, and the frame reads premium in retail and airport settings
Watch-outs
- – Costs more than a frontlit SEG wall or a printed-film box: you pay for the LED system
- – Frame fabrication and the LED build add lead time, so it is not a rush product
- – The graphic needs a blockout backing layer or light bleeds through unevenly
- – Edge-lit versions get less even as the face grows; very large faces need a deeper direct-backlit build
- – Indoor only, and larger boxes are heavy enough to want professional mounting
Not the right call for: Outdoor weather exposure · Daylight-only budgets where illumination adds nothing · Same-week rush jobs · Anyone who only needs a flat, non-lit graphic (use a plain SEG wall instead)
Where this fits in our work
We don't stop at the print. Backlit SEG fabric light box runs through the same network that specs and fabricates it, then installs it on site. The work behind it:
