Overview

Large-format wall graphics and printed murals.

Wall graphics cover printed murals, dimensional logo walls, and brand installs that go straight onto an interior or exterior wall. The Signavero network handles the whole chain. Print production, surface prep, primer, lamination, install. We run it across drywall, brick, concrete, and architectural panel. The prep work is what decides whether a wall graphic holds for 2 years or 7, so that's where most of the attention goes.

Common applications

Retail walls, corporate brand walls, environmental graphics.

  • Retail interior brand walls. Full-bleed mural prints on the back wall of a storefront. Some swap out every season. Others anchor a permanent campaign.
  • Corporate brand walls. Lobbies, conference rooms, hallway environmental graphics. The brand at full scale, where people actually walk past it.
  • Exterior wall murals. Building-scale prints on brick, concrete, or stucco. For anything at street level we add anti-graffiti laminate.
  • Dimensional logo walls. A printed background with stud-mounted dimensional letters on top, installed together as one piece on one trip.
Materials we typically specify

Cast or calendered film, laminate matched to climate.

Cast vinyl · smooth
IJ180

3M IJ180Cv3 or Avery MPI 1105 SuperCast. This is the long-life standard when the wall has to last.

Calendered
3–5 yr

3M IJ39 for promotional and seasonal walls on a three-to-five-year cycle. Step up to Avery MPI 1405 — PVC-free and longer-life — when sustainability specs apply or the graphic needs to last.

Conformable cast
Brick

3M IJ8624 or Avery MPI 2611, heat-rolled down into the grout lines on brick and stucco.

Overlaminate
UV

UV laminate matched to the film. Anti-graffiti goes on anything the public can reach.

Fabric murals
Soft

Tensioned fabric prints for corporate and hospitality jobs, where vinyl reads too retail.

Fabrication notes

Surface prep is the entire job.

When a wall graphic fails, the film almost never gets the blame. Bad surface prep does. So we treat prep as part of the install, not a step the brand gets to skip to save a day. Drywall has to be clean, dry, and dust-free, with any new paint cured a full 30 days. Brick and concrete get power-washed and primer-coated so the vinyl can grab a porous surface. On painted walls we test the paint's own adhesion before a single panel goes down. A mural on a poorly prepped wall will peel long before the same graphic on a wall that was primed right, no matter what you paid for the print.

Installation considerations

Dust containment, alignment, and acclimation.

  • Acclimation. Print and wall sit at the same temperature for 24 hours before we start. Put a warm roll on a cold wall and it bubbles within the week.
  • Dust containment. Floor masking, low-tack edge masking, and HEPA vacuums on any sanding. In an occupied space we work after-hours or behind GC dust barriers.
  • Multi-panel alignment. Any mural over 60 inches wide gets split into panels. We plot reference lines on the substrate and register the seams to within 1/16 inch.
  • Edge treatment. Edges get a clean trimmed cut, or tuck under trim where the wall detail allows it. Exterior installs also get anti-curl edge sealing.
Cross-links

Wall graphics in context.

Wall graphics rarely show up alone. They pair with dimensional letters to build a logo wall, with window graphics when the whole storefront needs to read as one piece, and with custom fabrication when the mural is one part of a bigger brand environment. Film comes from 3M Commercial Graphics and Avery Dennison.
