Gatorboard
A sturdier, drillable upgrade to foam board for durable indoor and light-use displays.
“Sturdier than foam, but still not weatherproof.”
Good to know
- For a single show or a short campaign, its 2-3 year life barely matters. It's a clean, rigid board that does that one job well, and you're not overpaying for durability you won't use.
- Left hanging undisturbed, it lasts years. Handle it a lot and the foam edges and corners start to dent. Think of it as a protected-indoor board, and go easy on the corners.
- It's sturdier and flatter than foam board, but it is not outdoor-rated. Durable doesn't mean weatherproof.
What it is
A rigid board with a dense polystyrene foam core faced with wood-fiber veneer. Far more rigid and dent-resistant than foam board, and it can be drilled without cracking.
Choose it when
You want an indoor display that survives handling, mounting, and reuse. It's more durable than foam board without the cost of metal.

- Stays flat at larger sizes

Questions people ask
Can I use Gatorboard outdoors?
No. It's sturdier than foam board but still an indoor, protected material. Moisture and weather will ruin it.
Gatorboard or foam board?
Gatorboard if it'll be handled, mounted, drilled, reused, or large. Foam board if it's cheap and short-term. Gatorboard costs more and earns it in durability.
Does it dent?
The foam edges and corners dent if dropped or stacked carelessly. Handle it with care, especially the corners.
